D-Mannose and Cranberry
The plant-based active ingredient D-mannose and the proanthocyanidins contained in cranberries can block the adherence of bacteria to the mucosal wall of the bladder in different ways. Consequently, these two ingredients ideally compliment each other.
D-mannose – The effective plant-based active ingredient for urinary tract infections
D-mannose is a natural, bioactive monosaccharide and is purely plant-based
- Confirmed mechanism of Action in urinary tract infections*:
- D-mannose blocks bacteriain the entire urinary tract by inhibiting bacterial adhesion to the bladder wall (so-called "anti-adhesive effect")
- Effective against a variety of bacteria
- Is hardly metabolized & suitable for diabetics
- Very well tolerated & ideal for long-time use**
Health-promoting components of the cranberry
The fruit of the cranberry plant contains many health-promoting ingredients, for example secondary plant substances (i.e. phytochemicals) like proanthocyanidins that can contribute to the healthy maintenance of the urinary tract. Note that cranberry should not be confused with the related lingonberry or cowberry.
Take 15ml (ideally in the evening just before going to bed). For dietary management of recurrent urinary tract infektions, long-term use is recommended.
Additional Information can be found at www.gesunde-blase.at.
Proanthocyanidins (PAC) are phytochemichals that have an anti-adhesive effect. The bacteria are not able to take hold and are washed away with the Urine. Cranberries are rich in proanthocyanidins.
